Gypsum Discharge Pump

What is gypsum discharge pump?

    The limestone slurry contacts with SO2 in the flue gas and chemically reacts with the injected oxidized air to generate the by-product gypsum. The function of gypsum discharge pump is to transfer the gypsum slurry from absorption tower to gypsum dehydration system. The pump is a single-stage single suction horizontal centrifugal pump.

Control of gypsum discharge

    Gypsum discharge determines the quality of gypsum to a certain extent. Only after the gypsum crystal grows to the appropriate size can it be discharged, further separated and dehydrated, so as to achieve a moisture content (mass percentage) of less than 10%. In the actual production and operation, the gypsum is usually discharged intermittently, that is, when the slurry density of the absorption tower increases to a certain value, start the dehydration equipment and discharge the gypsum; When the slurry density in the absorption tower drops to a certain value, stop discharging gypsum and dehydration, wait for the density to increase gradually. Such repeated operation can realize the continuous and stable operation of the system.

 

Precautions for selection of gypsum discharge pump

    The chloride ion content of slurry medium transported by gypsum discharge pump is high, and generally, the domestic generator set is basically controlled at about 18000ppm (except accident). GLH-5/GLH-61 high chromium wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials independently developed by SGB can fully meet the use of on-site working conditions.

    DT series medium horizontal desulfurization pump in SGB products can be used as gypsum discharge pump, its maximum flow rate can be 2800m3/h and the head is generally from 10-150m.
