SGB’s N series dredging pump can be used as marine dredging pump for dredging purposes. Marine dredging is the process of excavating and removing material from the bottom of an ocean, river, pond, or other large bodies of water. Dredging is mainly used for marine construction projects, mining, sediment removal, environmental remediation, canal deepening, harbor maintenance, and many more. Marine dredging requires different types of dredgers, and the dredging pump is the core equipment of the dredger, which is called the "heart" of the dredger in the industry.

 

How the marine dredging pump works

    The marine dredging pump mainly completes the purpose of dredging through the movement of water. It looses the underwater soil layer by mechanical or high-pressure water cutting, so that the sediment and water are mixed to form a mud water mixture (mud) with a certain concentration, and then the mud is sucked into the pump through the vacuum of the suction port of the dredging pump installed on the ship, and then discharged to the mud tank of the dredger, or directly discharged to the side mud barge, or transported to the reclamation area through the sludge discharge pipeline, so as to achieve the purpose of dredging and reclamation.\

    According to the use position of dredging pump to be divided into: underwater pump, cabin pump;

    According to the structure of dredging pump to be divided into: single-case pump, double-case pump.

    The cabin pump has two structures: single-case pump and double-case pump. Generally, under the condition of low head, the single-case pump can meet the requirements of on-site working conditions; Due to the high hardness, poor toughness and impact resistance of high wear-resistant alloy, all high head dredging pumps often use double-case pumps. The inner case is made of high wear-resistant alloy, and high-pressure water with certain pressure is rushed between the inner and outer cases to balance and compensate the stress of the inner case.

    The underwater pump appears with the continuous improvement of the requirements for excavation depth and production. It is installed underwater. Due to the positive pressure of water pressure, the suction capacity is very strong. The operation of underwater pump is not affected by NPSH, which can improve the suction concentration of mud. Most of the head is 20-30m, which can be directly loaded into the warehouse, filled and transported ashore by ship; It can also be used in series with the cabin pump for long-distance mud transportation.

 

Marine dredging pump features:

1. The number of vanes of the impeller is 3-5 to ensure sufficient passing capacity;

2. It must have good cavitation performance to ensure the dredging effect of the pump under the condition of large excavation depth;

3. Outlet diameter of dredging pumps of φ 600 below, bearing lubrication generally using grease lubrication structure, for φ 600 and above using thin oil lubrication or thin oil lubrication station for forced lubrication;

4. Shaft seal type: packing seal, liquidyne seal, mechanical seal with packing compound seal;

5. Small hydraulic loss, high efficiency and low energy consumption;

6. Good wear resistance, long service life of flow parts.
